WHY WE PICKED THIS LOCATION

While we haven’t historically made frequent trips to Mexico, Kristina’s cousin Mike and his wife, Taylor were going to be in Loreto over Thanksgiving.

2 years prior, Mike and Taylor sold all their belongings, moved aboard their 40’ sailboat ‘Via’, and began their sailing adventure. They had been in/around the Sea of Cortez (between the Baja Peninsula and mainland Mexico) for about a year, and were planning on heading south toward Central America in early 2023. HIGHLIGHTS

We had 2 wonderful day sails with Mike & Taylor, several great meals out at local restaurants, and a beautiful hike up a canyon nearby. We also cooked a Mexican-themed Thanksgiving dinner with Mahi Mahi that Mike had caught!

The Airbnb we found in Nopolo (a charming little ex-pat village just 10 minutes south of Loreto) was SO comfortable and relaxing for our visit. We enjoyed this little gated community and would definitely stay here again if we end up in this part of Baja in the future.
