HIGHLIGHTS
In Barcelona, a highlight was taking a private sunset sailing tour and getting to chat with the local guide while looking back to the city from the water.
In San Sebastian, the highlight was picking 2-3 tapas (aka pinxtos) restaurants per night, and trying small bites from each while wandering the quaint city streets!
WHY WE PICKED THIS LOCATION
Our focus for this trip was Kristina’s desire to kick-start her Spanish Language skills. So we picked one location we’d been wanting to visit (San Sebastian) and one location we were more familiar with (Barcelona) which both had Spanish schools.
So, while Spencer worked remotely during the week, Kristina took week-long Spanish immersion classes in each city. Our Airbnb’s in both cities were walking distance to the schools.
In San Sebastian, the timing worked out for an old friend from college to join us for the week since she was on sabbatical! She also took Spanish classes with Kristina at International House (IH) Lacunza.
In Barcelona, the classes were with a different school called Camino Barcelona.
Days were spent studying/working, and evenings were spent exploring each city, and eating at amazing restaurants.
